Graham Slee
Graham Slee Projects's core products are phono stages and headphone amplifiers which have been developed 'hand in hand' since the year 2000, each leading to improvements in the other. The sonic abilities of the headphone amplifiers made it possible to hear and tune fine detail in our phono stages where other phono stage manufacturers did not have such precise audition equipment. Likewise, the excellent detailing of our phono stages helped improve the quality and dynamic sound of our headphone amps... each contributed to the other in a very unique way. Unlike many other high end audio equipment manufacturers Graham Slee Projects Limited insists on manufacturing all its own designs in the UK in its own workshops. The company remains small and approachable which customers past and present prefer, knowing they are talking to the people who actually make their equipment, making what they do almost bespoke in its nature.
Graham Slee trained as an engineer in the 1970's, spent 10 years in AV, five years as a printed circuit designer, four years as a senior engineer in broadcast-audio design. He then freelanced in electronics and hi-fi a further 4 years before setting-up Graham Slee Projects in 1998 to design and make high fidelity audio equipment. All throughout his career he'd been interested in building amps, disco gear and hi-fi equipment in his spare time, and he'd designed many high performance audio circuits of his own. After 12 years, Graham finally realized an ambition to design a truly musical mono-block amp - the Proprius - and is now looking forward to completing a line preamp, and is also busily working on bringing the Graham Slee sound to a DAC and other digital offerings.
