The Audio-Technica AT-CW1 Heavy Counter Weight enables the AT-LP120 and AT-LP120 USB turntables to use higher quality headshells and cartridges which usually are beyond the usable range of the standard counterweight supplied with the AT-LP120 turntables.

The AT-CW1 is actually a more suitable counterweight for the factory installed A-T headshell and AT95E cartridge that are provided with the AT-LP120USB turntable. It sits closer to the pivot point of the tonearm for better tracking and performance.

- Low limit: 13g combined weight of headshell, headshell wires, screws and nuts, and cartridge¹
- High limit: 18g combined weight of headshell, headshell wires, screws and nuts, and cartridge

Footnote 1: The Low and High Limits were deduced using a 1g tracking force and with the dustcover closed while playing. With the dustcover removed, the counterweight can be used up to 20g combined weight. If a higher tracking force is required, then the usable Low limit will be revised higher and the High limit weight will increase as well. For reference, the A-T headshell and the AT95E cartridge have a combined installed weight of 16g. The LP Gear Zupreme headshell weighs 12g.
