The newly rejuvenated Rega P3-24 turntable lifts the legacy Rega Planar 3 and P3 series to a new constellation of record playing excellence. The result is a turntable that is elegantly simple, distinguished and very satisfying. Here are the reasons why.

New High-Performance Plinth Material
The new Rega P3-24 turntable plinth is both slim and attractive and offers high levels of rigidity by using phenolic resin laminates, with a high quality edging. It is a considerable improvement over the current P2 turntable.

New High-Performance Motor
The Rega P3-24 turntable uses the same very high quality, low vibration 24-volt motor that is used in the Rega P5 and P9 turntables. The controlling circuitry has been adjusted for phase angle of the motor coils resulting in very low vibration levels from the complete motor assembly. This design change gives a considerable performance increase over its predecessor — the Rega P3 2000 turntable.

New RB301 Tonearm
The world-renowned and highly regarded Rega RB300 tonearm has been modified to improve production and deliver higher musical sound performance. An improved vertical bearing housing has been used, which gives improved rigidly in the tonearms mounting, reducing the stresses in the main 13mm bearings. This assembly is topped off with the improved RB700 bias housing phono cable.

High-Quality Drive, Platter and Main Bearing
The same high quality drive belt, main bearing and glass platter are carried over from the past P3 2000.

Optional Rega Elys Cartridge
With the Rega P3-24 turntable, you also have the option of having the Rega Elys cartridge pre-fitted to the tonearm.

Optional Power Supply Upgrade
The TT PSU first developed for the Rega P7 turntable is a high quality outboard power supply. The TTPSU can be used as an affordable upgrade for the Rega P3-24 turntable, offering increased musical performance by conditioning the electrical supply with a synthesized low distortion crystal controlled ac input. This also gives the added convenience of electronic speed change control.

Listening Experience
We were anxious to try the Rega P3-24 turntable. It was very easy to set-up and align. We installed a Grado Gold phono cartridge because we have been delighted with its sheer musicality. Grado cartridges are said to usually hum with Regas. That is not true with the Rega P3-24. There was no humming whatsoever from the new high performance motor.

The Rega P3-24 turntable and Grado Gold phono cartridge turned out to be an exquisite match. The sound was liquid, detailed and colorful. It was painted on a wide sound field of solid black canvas with detail that could be discerned about 2-3 feet inside. We could not stop listening to records, both old and new. It was an enchanting musical experience.
