The Rega Exact 2 MM phono cartridge shares the same body molding as the rest of the Rega cartridge range. This is a single-piece body integrated with the stylus for minimal structural resonance and optimal electrical integrity. The mount is machined perfectly flat to ensure maximum contact between cartridge and headshell. Rega has its own coil winding machine which enable them to manufacture coils innovatively. With the Exact approximately one third less wire is used than in their other cartridges thus enabling the cartridge to deliver its output more efficiently.

The Exact has a very expensive non-removable cantilever fitted with a "Vital" diamond tip. This tip fits into the record groove more precisely than the usual elliptical type, thus allowing more harmonic detail to be traced from the grooves.
