Arm Height or VTA adjustment can be a controversial subject. Rega believes that the integrity of the arm fixing on the arm mounting board is much more important than the facility of arm adjustment. The arm should be reasonably parallel to the record surface or slightly lower at the mounting. The only time a spacer is necessary to raise the arm height is if the rear of a cartridge is touches the record while playing.

Installing the spacer is straightforward and easy. Just remove 3 screws from the top where the tonearm meets the plinth and two screws from the bottom holding the RCA wires to the base. Thread the spacer over the tonearm cable, then re-mount the arm using the required height setting. Once installed, the Adjustment Spacer eliminates the need to remove the tonearm to make VTA adjustments.

When using the 4mm and higher, it is recommended to remove the turntable cover. The counterweight weight may contact the cover when setting the balance weight.

A smaller diameter tungsten weight is available from your Rega dealer for use with the RB301 to solve this issue.

Note: On all Rega turntables spacers should not be necessary, unless using another manufacturers cartridge.
